To provide a highly personalized, AI-driven railway enquiry and travel management experience, we collect specific details when you interact with RailSafar:
- Personal Identifiers: Name, Phone Number, Email Address, and Date of Birth (DOB) provided during account setup or profile completion.
- Travel Preferences: Home Station (to offer quick station searches), saved trips, and search history to optimize your future queries.
- Conversational Input: Chat messages and voice-to-text queries sent to our conversational AI helper.
2. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your personal data and travel preferences are stored securely in a relational PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase. We employ industry-standard encryption, SSL protocols, and access controls to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion of your information.
3. Third-Party Integrations
We work with trusted external services to facilitate OTP verification, retrieve real-time railway schedules, and power our conversational AI engine. We only share the minimum necessary information to execute these specific tasks:
- MSG91: Used to send One-Time Passwords (OTPs) via SMS to verify your mobile number securely during sign-in.
- RapidAPI: Utilized to retrieve live Indian Railways information, including PNR status updates, seat availability, train locations, and platform numbers.
- Google Gemini (Gemini AI API): Powers our natural language comprehension engine. Only prompt text (devoid of unnecessary personal details) is sent to translate, parse, and generate helpful conversational suggestions.
4. Indian Railways and PNR Data
RailSafar is an independent enquiry assistant tool and is not officially affiliated with Indian Railways or IRCTC. We access railway data through public or commercial API channels (via RapidAPI). We do NOT store your PNR numbers permanently on our server unless you explicitly request to save a trip to your active dashboard.
5. Your Rights and Choices
We believe in absolute data transparency. You have the following control over your information:
- Access and Updates: You can view and update your profile name, email, date of birth, and home station inside your Account Settings panel at any time.
- Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and wipe all your profile details, PNR trackers, and search logs completely from our databases, please contact our support team at support@railsafar.in.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the platform constitutes agreement to the updated policy terms.
